Default My KH Verada locks itself when I shut the door

My KH Verada locks all four doors sometimes when I drive over a bump, and sometimes when I shut the door. It did it with the engine running a couple of days ago -- luckily I was at home and had a spare key. It caught me once away from home when I ducked into a shop, the key was still in the ignition switch with the engine stopped and all the doors locked as I shut the door.
When I use the remote to unlock it does unlock but re-locks again immediately.
I've looked in the manual but can't find any specific reference to the system. I suspect the fault to be in the driver's door but don't know what to look for.

The master lock motor contacts are bad. If you take the plug out of the motor it locks the doors as a security measure.

Replace the lock motor or check the plug in the drivers door

Yep, a well known and sorted problem. Replacement not needed.

In the driver's door is a large white plastic thing that includes the door lock itself and the electrics.
Deep in it's innards is a switch that goes stupid, can lose contact when you go over a bump, etc, and give the symptoms that you describe.

Lots of details in the right thread.

Thanks for the invaluable help, it's much appreciated. I followed the excellent write-up on the link and found my contacts to be exactly as described. A straightforward fix and I had thought that it might be a costly exercise.

Yes, great work by Andye on that writeup. So much easier to follow with pictures.
